Accounts receivable (AR)

Money customers owe the business. AR work is sending invoices, matching payments and following up on what is overdue.

In plain words

When you send an invoice, the amount becomes accounts receivable until the customer pays. It is money you have earned and not yet collected.

The work: send invoices on time, record each payment against the right invoice, and follow up on what is late. The longer an invoice sits, the less likely it gets paid.
